Friends,
Yawn - I’m tired of AI - what’s next?
I jest - AI is one of the many shifts happening within society: We are only just reaching fruiting of the changes in AI. The evolution has been in the mix for decades, and over the last 5 to 7 years, we started to see the hype become reality. Dall-E 2 and Chat GPT were the regenerative examples that kicked this off. Shifts in society require a change in imagination - and this year has been a testament to that. But there are other technologies that are defining the age - from blockchain to quantum computing to blockchain to genetic engineering. Collectively and interdependently, change is happening in front of our eyes (and social feeds!)
But change is not only defined by technology. There are other shifts at work.
I call it the blur of society.
We have moved from a simple world, one where we knew our boundaries. Work was work, home was home. It didn’t change during the pandemic, it was well into its transition before then. Covid was just a fast-forward. We have blurred our time away from reality. Ignore the metaverse for a minute. (It’s not happening for a while) - we are shifting reality to time to games, to mixed media, to platforms like TikTok and Instagram to trying to interpret facts because our minds are being influenced.
And we’re also shifting between a power struggle.
Individuals are taking control of their lives. We have technologies like Blockchain, but we also have a shift back to owning ones privacy after a brief period of giving up our lives to the corporates. We’re also seeing a shift to the right-ist and to the bullies and away from the West and to the East. We are become a decentralised human race. And that’s a scarey thing. While we may be closer together with the technologies that bring us close - we are further apart than ever before.
It’s a struggle to make sense of it all, but it’s happening. Our world is being ripped apart and we can’t quite see it for all the noise.
Our only way through is with a clear mindset.
Stay Curious - and don’t forget to be amazing,
